Adding a Transcoder
Transcoders are managed through the Admin pages. We have separate documentation for the different types of transcoder needed:
For most users that do not have other transcoders you will be using iconik and ImageMagick transcoders.
After you have created your transcoder you can assign it to one or more storages.
Starting to Add a transcoder
- Click on ADMIN in the top navigation.
- Choose Transcoders from the left navigation bar by pressing
- Click on + NEW TRANSCODER on the top right to open the form to create a transcoder.
- Choose a name, for your reference, to your transcoder
- Choose if the transcoding should be done in the cloud, or if it's local to an iconik Storage Gateway
- Choose the Transcoder Type. The Types change depending on whether you select Cloud or Locale transcoders (we have separate documentation for Redline and Vantage
- Select from the documentation below on the type that you have choosen for references to the parameters needed for the storage.
- When you are done, Click to create the transcoder.

- iconik Edit Proxy - using iconik's built-in transcoders for creation of video editing proxies.
- ImageMagick - the built-in iconik transcoder for images
