Quickly getting started with iconik.

The following guide assumes that you have an account on iconik and that you can log in.

Setting your User Information

Update your profile information

Once you have logged in:

  1. Click on the top right on your user icon and select Edit Profile.
  2. Enter your information into the form.
  3. Click when you are finished.

Update your user icon

Once you have logged in:

  1. Click on the top right on your user icon and select Edit Profile.
  2. Click on
  3. Select the image you wish to have as a profile picture.
  4. Resize if you wish.
  5. Save.

Searching and Browsing

If there is content already in iconik that you can see:

  1. Click on SEARCH in the main navigation.
  2. You will be presented with an empty search.
  3. Typing in the Search Bar will search for Assets and Collections.
  4. Use the button bar on the Left to open Filters
  5. Try selecting filters to narrow down your search.

Viewing an Asset

  1. In the search that you performed above, click on the title of an asset.
  2. You will be taken to the asset page for that asset.
  3. To the right are panels that will open different views on the asset such as Comments, Sharing and Review & Approve.
  4. There is also navigation to let you page through the assets that are in your search results.

If you have been given the role to be able to upload into iconik you will be able to upload using your web browser.

  1. Choose upload from the main navigation
  2. Check if correct storage is selected in the upper left corner. If not, select the correct storage place.
  3. If this is the first time that you have uploaded you will be presented with the empty upload window.
  4. You can choose to Drag files from your computer into the middle of the window or click on CHOOSE FILES OR DRAG HERE and choose the files using your web-browsers file open dialog.
  5. You can drag or choose one or more files to upload.
  6. Once you have added your files they will show up as rows.
    • To remove a file before it is uploaded, click on the red cross next to the file to remove it.
    • You can also add metadata before the file is uploaded.
  7. When you are ready, click to start the upload process.
  8. When uploading you will get a progress bar for each file as it uploads.
  9. After the file is finished it will get a green check mark to the left to say it's done.

Once the upload is in progress you can navigate to other areas of iconik and the upload will continue
