Subclip Assets Viewing

Subclips can be searched for and then viewed like another asset in the system.

Viewing the Subclip panel on a parent Asset

  1. Goto an Asset that has Subclips
  2. Open the subclip panel using the icon on the left side
  3. This will list the Subclips.

Subclip information.

The Subclip entry will contain the following:

  • Who created the Subclip
  • An edit button for editing and deleting the subclip information
  • A play button for playing the range of the Subclip on the parent page.
  • The in-point timecode and out-point timecode for the Subclip
  • A button for opening the time based metadata for the Subclip.
  • A button for opening the Subclip
  • A button for getting a link to the Subclip entry in the Subclip panel.

Viewing the Subclip

There are three ways of going to a subclip:

  1. Searching for the subclip or the metadata it contains.
  2. Open the parent assets Subclip panel and clicking on the button for opening a Subclip.
  3. Opening the relationship panel on the parent asset and clicking on the related Subclip.

All of these will open the Subclip asset page where you edit metadata, add comments and more. See Editing Subclips for more information.

Viewing the proxy of a subclip

The webproxy for the parent asset is used to show a preview of the Subclip starting from the in-point of the subclip to the out-point of the subclip. This can be viewed as normally with our video player

Going to the parent asset from a Subclip.

To go to the parent asset:

  1. Go into the Asset page for the subclip
  2. The parent will be listed next to the title.
  3. Click on the name of the parent asset.

You can also use the relationship panel to navigate to the Subclip.
