Subclip Assets Creating

Subclips can be created either from time-based metadata, adding the Subclip and referencing that time-based metadata or by creating a Subclip directly on a video Assets

Creating from time-based metadata

  1. Go to the asset you want to add a Subclip for.
  2. Open the time-based metadata panel using the icon on the left side
  3. Find the time-based metadata entry you wish to have as a Subclip
  4. Click on CREATE SUBCLIP FROM RANGE
  5. In the modal dialog that appears you can:
    1. Edit the title for the subclip (it will automatically append _subclip)
    2. Choose which collection the Subclip will be created in.
  6. Click + CREATE to add the Subclip

Creating a subclip by creating a range

  1. Go to the asset you want to add a Subclip for.
  2. Optionally open the Subclip panel using the icon on the left side
  3. Click on the subclip icon underneath the player to open the Subclip form
  4. Create an in-point in the player by any of the following:
    1. Dragging the playhead to where you want the in-point and selecting the in-point marker in the player or pressing i
    2. Playing the video until the correct point and pressing i
    3. Changing the time-code in the left timecode box to the correct timecode and then pressing the in-point marker button in the player or pressing i
  5. Create an out-point that is after the in-point in the player by any of the following:
    1. Dragging the playhead to where you want the out-point and selecting the out-point marker in the player or pressing O
    2. Playing the video until the correct point and pressing O
    3. Changing the time-code in the left timecode box to the correct timecode and then pressing the out-point marker button or pressing O
  6. You will now have the range of the Subclip from doing the above.
  7. Enter the title if you wish. This is the title that the Subclip will get.
  8. Edit the metadata for the Subclip
  9. Choose the collection that the Subclip will be a member of.
  10. Click + CREATE SUBCLIP to add the Subclip
