Search

Please read through the following documentation to understand the search feature in iconik.

Overview

Search is central to what iconik provides. The more assets and metadata that you enter on your assets the more can be gained from using the search functionality for finding your files.

Search matches input that you type with content that is stored for you within iconik. The search system periodically indexes all your assets, collections and the metadata on them to be able to provide the ability to search and retrieve your items.

Search Display

You can display the search results in a grid or table view.

The grid view allows for a larger scalable preview size of the contents with a scrub-able preview of Video files. The table view can show more metadata with definable fields. The fields can be re-order by clicking and dragging on the header.

Basic Searching

You can search for Assets and Collections from anywhere in iconik as the search bar is always at the top in the main navigation.

  1. Simply start typing in the search bar.
  2. As you type the search page will display and begin to filter down to match your query.
  3. Once you have finished typing the assets and collections matched will display below as pods or rows.

Refining your search

With the Search open you can refine your search using the Filter Panel and Collection Panel.

Saving your search

Searches can be saved so that you don't need to remember what was typed before.
